Wii shall overcome review

In today’s class discussion on games and how they might can help save the world. I don’t agree with the games begin used as tools to save the world. I grew up in a house with cousins who constantly played video games; even know they live for black ops. I disagree with the whole idea that games can give people techniques on developing skills like collaboration and confidence. Maybe this could be because I’m not a gamer myself but the concept of games possibly saving the world I really don’t agree with. I’ve always seen gamers as begin those people who don’t live in reality at all, they anticipate getting home and playing video games to escape from the real world. So if they indeed do feel this, I don’t understand how a game could give someone life skills on saving the world. The main purpose of a video game is to escape into a world were anything is possible so relating a game to actual reality is a difficult concept. I was like a parent when it came to videos because I didn’t see the point in seating for hours and hours at a time and playing a video game and doing it every day. Coming from my own personal experience with video games and seeing people that I know who have played them or did play them, the whole developing of skills didn’t work in their favor, in a sense it was like the more they played the game the more they failed at doing things in reality.
