In this article it talks about how social media is addicting and starting to take over as people's news source. I know this is pretty much the theme of the class. I have never really experienced something like this before. I have never been "addicted" to social media, and often get my news from the TV. That was until then, NFL free agency. Right when free agency hit this year and it was a mad house for NFL teams to sign the best outstanding players, I needed the news as it became. I then, for the first time, started really using twitter. This mans twitter, was refreshed on my phone almost every minute. Adam Schefter was breaking news the second it happened. I even was watching espn at the time and they would have to wait until a segment or a commercial was over before they could break the news as well. Schefter's twitter was updated instantaneously a new agent was signed. It was quick and right there, in the palm of my hands. For the first time I finally fed into the whole, "instant news" thing everyone was raving about. It sucked me in, and for the first time, met my needs. I don't agree with the article in full, but sure am having a look at my opinion.
