Princess Culture

I recently took a vacation to Disney World and realized that Disney is not what I thought it would be like. The media portrays Disney World to be such a magical place that is centered on the princess culture. However after visiting Disney I feel like the princess culture is dying out and not as popular as it used to be. Television shows have always portrayed Disney World to be a place where princesses are always waking around and little girls spend their day’s following the princesses and getting makeovers. When I went to Disney I visited all Disney parks and never saw a princess character walking around. Also I did not see any advertising for where people could go to do activates with the princesses. I was really shocked when I was in Disney, because I felt like I was at a regular amusement park because I did not see princess stuff like is shown through the media about Disney World.

It also seems like the princess culture is starting to fade and not be as popular as it use to be. In the past Disney Princesses was a popular topic. Girls were always dressed in Disney Princess outfits and had every item in Disney Princess. In the past few years I feel as if Disney princesses are not as popular as they use to be because it is not talked about as much or advertised because new television characters are becoming more appealing to children.
