COMM 322: Group Assignment #2
50 Points
Due: March 15th
Assignment: This is a project with a
creative, expressive component. In
addition, it is a project that will be devised, in large part, by the
class. Below you will see some
assignment guidelines and perimeters but the specifics will be filled in by the
class. In addition, the class will have
a say in the overall group grade and each group member will grade his/her group
members.
I
want your group to express your findings from assignment one by using only
interesting image and image/text combinations.
These image/text combinations will function to quickly and powerfully
say and show a main idea from the media coverage of your topic. The movie should have an overall flow so that
a viewer can follow the argument.
You
can use any images that you find on the Internet, OR that you take with a
camera, OR that you scan into your computer.
Please note that this assignment is not testing people’s
Photoshop/photography/editing skills.
Instead, it is asking you to demonstrate your visual and creative
thinking skills. Please feel free to
rely on the websites that you used in assignment one but you may also wish to
go outside those sites. Consider using
things like:
You
will take your collection of images and create a 1:30-2 minute video—with a
TITLE. I would recommend creating a
Quicktime movie using the Stupeflix software (stupeflix.com) or something like
that but that it is up to you. With this
project, you will demonstrate your knowledge of both the case study and how the
media functions.
