“Applied Storytelling: Lessons from the Road between New Media and Old”
Pruis Hall , 7:30 p.m (tonight)

Don't stress! Kristen, has so kindly opened up another opportunity to earn some extra bonus points before the end of the semester! Here is the scoop:

The Ball State COMM Club is planning its bi-annual Alumni Conference for Sat., March 24, 2012 (this Saturday). This event is designed to help undergraduate Communication Studies majors & minors network with alumni so that they can learn about the careers available to them as communication professionals.

Alumni will discuss how they became interested in their chosen career paths; what experiences prepared them for that career; and the joys, challenges, and pitfalls associated with their careers.

The conference is scheduled from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the David Letterman Communication and Media Building. Registration begins at 9:30 am in the Letterman Lobby. Lunch and afternoon refreshments will be provided.

Our guests include:

•Keynote Speaker: Tyson Carter - Sr. Instructor (IBM InfoSphere)
•J.D. Dalfonso - Social Media and Web Marketing Coordinator (Bradley University)
•Sarah DeWitt - Commencement Coordinator (Ball State University)
•Annie Hamilton - Vice President of Relocation Services (CENTURY 21 Scheetz)
•Jeff Huges - Youth Pastor (Union Chapel Ministries)
•LaTisha Idlewine - Associate Wellness Director (Athenaeum & Indy Bike Hub YMCA)
•Brooke Leister - Human Resource Assistant (Angie's List)
•Rachel Nielsen - HR Generalist (Indiana University Health, Ball Memorial Hospital)
•Jennifer Plumlee – Leasing Consultant (Emerald Lake Apartments)
•Kathy Purvis - Global Commodity Leader (Rolls Royce)
•Matzine Sanchez-Gutierrez - Sales Consultant (ProsTrans International, Inc.)

The only guidelines for the Alumni Conference is that you dress in business casual AND stay for the ENTIRE event (10-2pm). When you register we will mark you as attending, but this also means you must "check out" at the end of the event. A member of COMM Club will have "check in" and "check out" recording sheet. Kristen decided you will not be required to write a summary for the conference.

A free lunch, free networking, & extra credit! What could be better? More info: https://www.facebook.com/events/366115113400901/

Also, you can only receive extra credit for one event.

If you have any questions or need any clarification shoot me an email at: jcbramer@bsu.edu. I hope to see y'all tonight and/or Saturday!
